Griffin & Tranter (1986 : 33) - Indo-ouest Pacifique. Mer Rouge, Afrique orientale, Iles Amirantes, Andaman, Maldives. Hawaii. Egalement Guam (Ng & McLay, 2003 - Crustaceana, to 18/72 m, 30/40 fathoms 54/92 m). Premier signalement à la Réunion.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 5-92 m

Material examined — Mayotte KUW 2009, coll. J.M. Bouchard, 2010-2012, lagoon, scuba dive, 5-10m, preserved det. Poupin/Guinot in MNHN 9 July 2012, specimen not located in the collection for present study.
Remarks — This specimen must be in Paris MNHN, perhaps unregistered. A living specimen is photographed from Réunion in Legall & Poupin (2018). Ng & McLay (2003) can be consulted for redescription of this species, distribution and transfer from Majidae to Parthenopidae.
Geographic and depth ranges — Red sea, Mayotte (this work), South Africa to Japan, Hawaii; subtidal to 54/92 m.
