Material examined — Mayotte KUW 2009, st. 29, Mboianatsa beach, Ngouja hotel, intertidal, 2 MM 4.6 x 6.3 and 5.4 x 7.3 mm, MNHN-IU-2009-2619, det. J. Poupin July 2011.
Remarks — These specimens were collected with L. exaratus and separated from them by: carapace smoother; anterolateral teeth of carapace more rounded; shape of big chela as illustrated in Serène (1984: pl. 26C), male pleopod with distal spine short, hooked at tip, and distal lobe with only 5-6 mushroom-shaped spines (compare Serène, 1984: 180, fig. 107, L. gracilis, and fig. 106, L. exaratus).
Geographic and depth ranges — IWP, Red Sea, Mayotte (this work), Mozambique to Hawaii, French Polynesia; intertidal, shallow subtidal.
