Remarks — This small crab is distinct among the Liocarpilodes by anterolateral margin of carapace cut into four teeth, 1 and 4 very small or indistinct, and by a strong spine on inner margin of merus of cheliped (close up macrophotos available in Legall & Poupin, 2018).
Geographic and depth ranges — WIO/?IWP, Red Sea, Mayotte, Europa Island, Madagascar, Mauritius, perhaps to Guam, French Polynesia. Western population of L. armiger s.l. is sometimes attributed to a the pacific form, L. pacificus Balss, 1938 (e.g. Davie, 2002) but Guinot (1958b) mention morphological variations that indicate that the two species are perhaps conspecific.
