Remarques de R. Cléva au moment de la détermination : st. 10 : La granulation de la carapace et des pattes de ce sp. correspondent à L. bella, mais les doigts des chélipèdes ne sont pas noir mais rougeâtres. Est ce que ce caractère est constant ? st. 26 : La granulation de la carapace et des pattes, le pl1, correspondent à L. bella ; la plus petite femelle a les doigts des chélipèdes rougeâtre et non noir comme chez la plupart des L. bella de la collection MNHN. Lenz (1910 : 545) signale cette espèce de l'île Europa (sous Carpilodes vaillantianus AME, un synonyme cf. Serène ,1984).
Octobre 2011 : examen et photos macro, J. Poupin, B32372, 32373. D'après Serène (1984 : 61) " … couleur, taille et aspect voisin ont parfois entraîné une confusion entre L. stimpsoni, L. rugata et L. bella". Un examen attentif de la carapace permet de les séparer.
