World Distribution
Serène (1984 : 170) Described from New Caledonia and recorded in numerous places in the Indo-West Pacific, including Red Sea, Zanzibar, Australia, Hawaii, and Japan. Also Europa, Seychelles, Australia, New Caledonia. Japan, Paracel, French Polynesia, Mayotte.

Vertical range : Shallow to deep-waters (e.g. 10-190 m) - Min-Max observed: 1-120 m

Remarks — This Lophozozymus, usually of small size, is characterized by its live coloration with a reticulation of fine red lines on carapace and ambulatory legs are marked with transverse red bands. The specimen examined from KUW st. 35 is broken with only faint remains of coloration. The live coloration is illustrated herein from a specimen photographed at Mayotte in 2010 (courtesy N. Verneau).
