World Distribution
Li & Bruce (2006) - Type locality: Tahiti. Also known from Madagascar, Seychelles through the Indian Ocean to China (Taiwan), Philippines, Indonesia, and the Pacific islands as far as the Marshall Islands in the North Pacific and the Marquesas Islands in the South Pacific. Plus Wallis & Futuna.
Keith et al. (1999 : 50) - Indo-ouest Pacifique, de Madagascar et la Réunion, à la Polynésie française. Madagascar, Comores, Seychelles, Réunion, Maurice à Indonésie, Taiwan, Philippines, Papouasie Nouvelle-Guinée, Nouvelle-Calédonie, Wallis & Futuna, Polynésie française. Tous les signalements australiens de cette espèce seraient erronés (cf. Short, 2004: 18).

Environnement : Freshwater - Substrat/Association : Soft bottom (mud or sand)
