MNHN. - Guinot, 1967b: 266, list with Comoros / Not Medaeops granulosus (Haswell, 1882), accepted as M. neglectus in Guinot (1967c: 367), Serène (1984: 91) — WIO, Red Sed, Kenya, Mayotte, South Africa to Madagascar; intertidal, subtidal.

Medaeops neglectus - Serène, 1984: 91, Mayotte with this comment "Les spécimens de Balss de Madagascar, et sans doute ceux de Mayotte, bien que cela ne soit pas explicitement mentionné, appartiennent en fait à M. neglectus et non pas à M. granulosus (Haswell), une espèce qui "n'a jamais été récoltée dans l'océan Indien occidental").
