(Davie, 2002: 218) - IWP, South Africa, Australia, Japan, Hawaii. Plus Wallis & Futuna, French Polynesia. The distribution is limited to Eastern Indian Ocean to central Pacific in Innocenti et al. (2020, Raffles Bulletin) records in WIO being M. cannicci instead.
