French Polynesia only, Austral Islands (Rurutu), 250-302 m. - Macpherson (2013: 296, Tropical Deep Sea Benthos) - Only known from French Polynesia, Society Archipelago, 250-302 m. The present specimens from the Tuamotu and Society archipelagos was collected at 300 and 650 m.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Associated with corals (facultative)

Vertical range : Deep (more than 100 m) - Min-Max observed: 250-650 m

Munida arae - Macpherson (2013: 296, Tropical Deep Sea Benthos) - French Polynesia. TARASOC: Tarava seamounts, stn CP 3303 (Mont Punu Taipu), 587-704 m, 1 female 13.6 mm (MNHN-IU-2010-6232). – Tuamotu Archipelago, stn DW 3355 (Kaukura), 530-710 m, 1 male 13.3 mm (MNHN-IU-2010-6233). – Society Archipelago, stn DW 3435 (Huahine), 500-612 m, 1 female 7.7 mm (MNHN-IU-2010-6236). – stn DW 3455 (Raiatea), 430-527 m, 2 ovigerous females 12.3, 12.5 mm (MNHN-IU-2010-6234). – stn DW 3499 (Tahiti), 550-700 m, 1 ovigerous female 9.3 mm (MNHN-IU-2010-6235).
