World Distribution
Macpherson (2013: 300, Tropical Deep Sea Benthos) - Previously known from New Caledonia, at 370-586 m. The new material extends the distribution range of the species to French Polynesia (Tarava seamounts, Tuamotu and Society Archipelagos), at 430 and 536 m.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Associated with corals (facultative)

Vertical range : Deep (more than 100 m) - Min-Max observed: 305-745 m

Holotype: New Caledonia, Norfolk ridge. NORFOLK 2 Stn CP2122, 23º21.55´S, 168º00.12´E, 560-577 m, male (MNHN Ga 4624 = MNHN-IU-2010-1471).

Munida aulakodes - Macpherson (2013: 300, Tropical Deep Sea Benthos) - French Polynesia. TARASOC: Tarava seamounts, stn DW 3296 (SW Tahiti), 437 m, 1 male 8.0 mm, 1 ovigerous female 6.4 mm (MNHN-IU-2010-6223). – Tuamotu Archipelago, stn DW 3371 (Kaukura), 430-450 m, 1 male 6.7 mm (MNHN-IU-2010-6224). – Society Archipelago, stn DW 3408 (Maupiti), 437-536 m, 1 male 6.4 mm, 2 females 4.2, 5.4 mm (MNHN-IU-2010-6222).
