World Distribution
Komai & Osawa (2006: 16) - "So far known only from the type locality, Tahiti, French Polynesia (Fig. 47)."

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 0-5 m

Museum Godeffroy, 1888.). - Komai pers. com. (May 2006) "it is surprising that no specimens closely fitting the holotype of P. laevimanus have been found. I do not know whether the holotype is an aberrant P. tweediei or is a really good species".
