Komai (2010: 1314, J. Nat. Hist.) - Southern Japan, Taiwan, northwestern Australia, Guam, Cook Islands, Samoa, Tuamotu, Hawaii, subtidal to 60 m. Newly recorded from Austral Islands in French
Polynesia Also, Comoros (Mayotte, 15-20 m), Réunion (0-5 m).
(Komai et al., 2021, Raffles Bulletin) - Christmas Island (1-16 m), and Widely distributed in the Indo-West Pacific: Mayotte, Réunion, the Philippines, Taiwan, Japan (Ryukyu Islands), Guam, northwestern Australia, Samoa, Cook Islands, and French Polynesia; subtidal to 60 m (Komai & Osawa, 2006; Komai, 2010; Komai & Rahayu, 2013; Tan et al., 2014a)
