Li (2008: 205) - Type locality: Fiji Is. Previously also known from South Africa to Red Sea, eastwards to Indonesia, Philippines, South China Sea, Japan, Australia (Queensland), Marshall Is and French Polynesia (Austral Is, Society Is, Tuamotu Is); littoral.
Keith et al. (1999 : 48), Fransen (1994) - Indo-ouest Pacifique. Afrique orientale à la Polynésie française. Comprend, Madagascar, Comores (Mohéli, Mayotte), Seychelles, Réunion, Maurice, Wallis & Futuna.

Environnement : Brackish - Substrat/Association : Soft bottom (mud or sand)

Vertical range : Intertidal - Min-Max observed: 0-5 m
