See comments - presence in New Caledonia needs to be confirmed, potential species Parasesarma affine in Japan, China, Taiwan, P. ungulatum throughout Southeast Asia, and P. dumacense in the Philippines.

The occurrence of Parasesarma plicatum in Wallis & Futuna and New Caledonia is not confirmed in the revision of P. plicatum species-group by Rahayu & Ng (2010, Zoosystema); these regional records are doubftul as later authors indicate "Parasesarma plicatum species-group have distinct distributions P.
plicatum being found in the eastern Indian Ocean, P. affine in Japan, China, Taiwan, P. ungulatum throughout Southeast Asia, and P. dumacense in the Philippines.
