World Distribution
Haig & Ball (1988: 158) - Red Sea and Sri Lanka, Banda in Indonesia. Also French Polynesia, Tuamotu (Rangiroa), plus Guam and Papua New Guinea (coll. Paulay). Also Japan, Kumejima Island, 7 m in Osawa et al. (2012 project for Species Diversity).

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 1-7 m

Central Pacific data (Wallis & Futuna, Polynesia, Clipperton, Easter Island)
Aniculus erythraeus - Coll.G. Paulay, 10 January 2001, Tuamotu, Rangiroa, ca. 1 km S. of NW point of atoll, off Motu Maeherehonae, det. A. Asakura (FLMNH-UF, 1352; first record for FP). Also collected in Guam and Papua New Guinea (com. Paulay June 2004).
