Marin & Anker (2011: 6) - Widely distributed in the Indo-West Pacific, ranging from the Red Sea and East Africa to French Polynesia and Japan (e.g., Bruce 1982; Chace & Bruce 1993; for full list of records see Li 2000); however, at least some of the previous records may refer to one of the below-described new species. Include Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique channel, Comoros (Mayotte, Glorieuses), Seychelles, Réunion, Maldivia, Indonesia, Australia, Philippines, Salomon, Marshall, Samoa.
