World Distribution
Li (2008: 248) - Type locality: Loloata I., Hansa Bay, Papua New Guinea. Also known from Japan (Izu Peninsula); 5-9 m. Also French Polynesia, 108-112 m. Réunion.
Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Associated with corals (obligate)
Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 1-112 m

Very close to P. ankeri Marin, 2007. Carapace with only 2 transverse white bands (counting band between the eyes) while there is an additionnal third posterior band in P. ankeri. According to A. Anker (com. pers. 2019) the 2 species are perhaps conspecific (to be checked with DNA).?
