Mayotte data
Pseudoliomera variolosa (Borradaile, 1902)
Material examined — Mayotte KUW 2009, st. 23, Choizil Pass, "Patate à Teddy", 15-30 m, 2 FF 6.2 x 9.2 mm, 7.4 x 10.4 mm, MNHN-IU-2009-3230, det. October 2011.
Remarks — This species has superficial ressemblances with juveniles of Gaillardiellus rueppelli (Krauss, 1843). The aspect of chelae is a good mean to separate them. In Pseudoliomera variolosa the palm is more inflated and fingers are hoof-shaped with two bristle brushes at tip.
Geographic and depth ranges — IWP, Kenya, Somalia, Mayotte (this work), South Africa to Hawaii, French Polynesia; shallow subtidal to bathyal, 29–311 m.
