World Distribution
Ahyong & Caldwell (2017, JCB: 6) - Cocos-Keeling Islands (eastern Indian Ocean) to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Guam, Rotuma (Fiji), and now Moorea, French Polynesia; shore to at least 23 m (Ahyong & Erdmann, 2003).
Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)
Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 0-23 m
Central Pacific data (Wallis & Futuna, Polynesia, Clipperton, Easter Island)
EASTER ISLAND - Pseudosquilla oxyrhyncha Borradaile - Gravier, 1936: 254 (Ile de Pâques ... "Deux exemplaires ont été récoltés : l'un mâle, de 47 mm, environ de longueur, l'autre femelle, de 31 mm ..."). - Raoulserenea oxyrhyncha - Manning, 1995: 116 (new genus). - Remark: e-mail AHYONG December 17, 2003: 'I was recently been able to check Gravier's (1936) Raoulserenea oxyrhyncha (as Pseudosquilla oxyrhyncha) from Easter Island in the MNHN. Of the 2 original specimens, only one seems to be extant (47 mm male) - it is referable to Pseudosquillisma oculata. Raoulserenea oxyrhyncha can probably now be excluded from the known fauna of EI.
