World Distribution
Vereshchaka (2000) - Indo-West Pacific . Bathypelagic - Mesopelagic (200-400 m at night and 1000-1700 m during the day). Pelagic, thus probably whole French Polynesia (Society, Tuamotu, Gambier, Marquesas, Austral). ?Hawaii

EASTER ISLAND - Sergestes regalis - Vereshchaka, 2000: 149 (Geographic distribution; Syn.; presence very probable in the Easter Island area although no specimens actually captured, see fig. 54, p. 153). - FRENCH POLYNESIA - Sergia regalis - Vereshchaka, 2000: 149, fig. 52a-d, 53a-c, 54, pl. 2a (A circumtropical species occuring in the tropical zones of all oceans, probably including French Polynesia but not Easter Island, cf. fig. 54; 100-2000m). - Unpublished specimens - MNHN, Coll. MUSORSTOM 9 cruise, Marquesas 1997, det. A. Vereshchaka January 2001 (Eiao, Nuku Hiva, Ua Pou; 705-1107m).
