In the Eastern Pacific, from the Gulf of California, Mexico mainland, Costa Rica, Panama, to Colombia and oceanic Islands: Baja California Sur, Revillagigedo (Clarion, Socorro), Clipperton, Coco, Malpelo, Galapagos. Includes Wallis & Futuna.
Incluant : Mer Rouge, Madagascar, Glorieuses, Comores, Mayotte, premier signalement, Seychelles, Réunion, Philippines, Wallis & Futuna, Polynésie française, Clipperton, Galapagos.

Remarks — Live largest specimens with bluish carapace, smaller specimens orange, all with margin of distal propodus of P2-P5 red. At st. 11, 1 F ov. 12.3 x 15.3 mm (MNHN B32273, MNHN-IU-2009-1091) with tomentum on chelipeds first attributed (field notes and photos, det. J. Poupin) to 'T. bidentata pilose', corrected into T. lutea by P. Castro (December 2009).
