Mozambic to central America, including ?French Polynesia. In the Eastern Pacific, from the gulf of California, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, to Equator, and oceanic Islands: Baja California Sur, Revillagigedo (Clarion, Socorro), Clipperton, Galapagos.
Castro et al. (2004 : 41) - Indo-Pacifique. Comprend, Afrique orientale, Mozambique, Mayotte, premier signalement, Réunion, Polynésie française, Clipperton, Galapagos.

Geographic and depth ranges — IP, Kenya, Mozambique to Clipperton, Gulf of California, Colombia, Equator; subtidal to 60 m. A widspread species but still not reported in Hawaii and French Polynesia.
