Remarks — This species can be confused with Trapezia bidentata. The tomentum on outer face of palm, present in T. lutea, absent in T. bidentata, is the best character to separate these two species.
Geographic and depth ranges — IWP, Kenya, South Africa to Guam, French Polynesia; subtidal to 45 m.
