World Distribution
(Chan & Yang, 2023, Tropical Deep-Sea Benthos) - Likely restricted to southern hemisphere and reported from South Africa, Valdivia Bank, Walvis Ridge, St. Paul and Amsterdam Islands, Australia, New Caledonia, Lord Howe Rise and Norfolk Ridge, New Zealand; at depths of 457-1530 m (de Freitas 1985; Crosnier 1990, 2007; Pérez Farfante & Kensley 1997; Dall 2001, 2005; Emmerson 2016). The single record of this species from Northwest Pacific by Kikuchi & Nemoto (1986) needs verification (see Dall 2001). Reported for the first time from the Walters Shoal and slightly extending the vertical distribution of this species down to 1615 m deep.
