Crane (1975: 297) - Tropical and subtropical Indo-Pacific, from eastern Africa to Samoa; from near Massawa in the Red Sea, Karachi in Pakistan, and Fukuoka in southern Japan south to the Umngazana River, Cape Province, in Africa, Broome in Western Australia, Gladstone in Queensland, Australia, and Tonga, South Pacific.
