Stomatopoda - Unipeltata - Squillidae - Carinosquilla
Carinosquilla spinosa Ahyong & Naiyanetr, 2002 |
World Distribution
Distribution (Ahyong & Naiyanetr, 2002) – Carinosquilla spinosa is presently known only from the Indian Ocean and all previous reports of C. carinata from the Indian Ocean are referable to the present new species. Carinosquilla carinata appears to be restricted to the South China Sea. Thus, the ranges of C. carinata and C. spinosa are apparently discrete, but conceivably could overlap in the Malacca Strait. 30-40 m (26-55 m in Manning 1968)
Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Soft bottom (mud or sand)
Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 20-60 m
Mayotte data
Squilla carinata – Manning, 1968: 21, fig. 6 (South Mayotte, Banc de Pracel, 55 m, sand and mud, coll. A. Crosnier 1959, 1 female TL 65.1 mm, MNHN) – Not Carinosquilla carinata (Serène, 1950) following Ahyong & Naiyanetr (2002).
