Remarks — Just after the fieldwork these specimens had been attributed erroneously to Catoptrus nitidus, also present in Mayotte. However, careful re-examination, especially of male pleopod, have proved that they are instead Catroptrus rathbunae. Vannini & Innocenti (2000 : 257, fig. 8-9) can be consulted for diagnosis and illustration of male pleopods in C. nitidus/rathbunae.
