Ciliopagurus vakovako Poupin, 2001: 292, fig. 1-4 (Eiao, Nuku Hiva, Tahuata, Ua Huka, Ua Pou; 0-53/57m, MUSORSTOM 9 campaign). - Ciliopagurus strigatus - Forest, 1995: 50, in part, Marquesas specimens only, Nuku Hiva = Ciliopagurus vakovako. - Ciliopagurus krempfi - Forest, 1995: 59, in part, Marara st. D47, Tahuata, 48m only = Ciliopagurus vakovako. - Remark: this new species seems to endemic to the Marquesas Islands where it can be considered as a vicariant of the widespread indo-west pacific Ciliopagurus strigatus. - AAMP, Marquesas, 2012, coll.
