World Distribution
Lemaitre (2014: 255, Raffles Bulletin) - Eastern Pacific, from off southern California and the Gulf of California, the Gulf of Panamá, to off Boca del Guafo and the Juan Fernández Islands, Chile. In the South Pacific, questionably from the Nazca & Sala-y-Gómez Ridge (Zhadan, 1997). Depth: 55–993 m.

EASTER ISLAND - Oncopagurus cf. haigae (De Saint Laurent, 1972) - Zhadan, 1997: 59 (Seamounts Sala y Gňmez and Nazca ridge, r/v Pr. Stockman, st. 1957, 29/04/87, 24°56.5'S, 88°31.6'W, 570-575 m; "If the assignment of our specimen to O. haigae proves to be correct, this would be the only eastern Pacific species of Parapaguridae found so far at the Nazka and Sala-y-Gomez ridges"). - Remark: An additional Parapaguridae, Bivalvopagurus sinensis (de Saint Laurent, 1972), is mentioned in Parin et al. (163, 216 tab. 3) as a personal communication by Zhadan. However, as this species is not included in Zhadan (1997), it is considered as a preliminary determination that was not confirmed by further examination. Therefore, Bivalvopagurus sinensis has not been included in this checklist.
