World Distribution
(Ng & Tay, 2001, Zeylanika) - With certainty only from South India. Perhaps also Mauritius (in Rathbun, 1904, with a dry sp. in MNHN) and Réunion (this database).
(Bahir & Yeo, 2005, RBZ - Revision of Oziotelphusa) - The species is known only from the types, probably collected from the Coramandal coast, South Eastern India. The species is considered to be endemic to its type locality [No mention of Mauritius].

Environnement : Freshwater - Substrat/Association : Soft bottom (mud or sand)

Potamon bouvieri - Kiener & Duchochois, 1980 (CEMAGREF report): 69, Réunion, freshwater.

Oziothelphusa senex senex - Keith et al., 1999 : 28, 58 - From Potamon bouvieri in Kiener & Duchochois (1980) considered as a synonym of Oziotelphusa senex senex (Fabricius, 1798), with the remark that it is probably an erroneous report - Not O. senex.

Oziotelphusa bouvieri (Rathbun, 1904) has been reported from Mauritius by Ratbhun (1904) with a specimen still in MNHN. This species is currently considered as endemic to South India but was perhaps present in the past in Mauritius and perhaps also Réunion.
