ABRS (Internet), Takeda & Miyake (1968) - Seulement l'Australie pour P. fissifrons typique, côte ouest, sud, Sydney, Queensland, de Moreton Bay au Nord à 'Great Sandy Strait'. ? Indo-ouest Pacifique si Mayotte peut être confirmée pour cette espèce.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 6-10 m

Material examined — Mayotte KUW 2009, st. 19, north Islet Handrema, 6-10 m, 1 F 6.8 x 10 mm, MNHN-IU-2013-7229, pre-det. J. Poupin July 2011.
Remarks — Pilumnus fissifrons is known with certainty only from Australia. This pre-determination is proposed with hesitation based on key and diagnosis in Takeda & Miyake (1968), without comparison specimens. The specimen from Mayotte has the same pilosity, shape of carapace, and slopping front with marked median fissure.
