World Distribution
Indo West Pacific and East Pacific, from South Africa to Chile, including Australia (Lord Howe, Norfolk, Tasmania, Bass Strait, Western Australia), southern hemisphere cool temperate species, Easter Island (Davie, 2002b; Báez & Ruiz, 1985; Griffin, 1973).

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Intertidal - Min-Max observed: 0-5 m

Central Pacific data (Wallis & Futuna, Polynesia, Clipperton, Easter Island)
EASTER ISLAND - Plagusia chabrus - Báez & Ruiz, 1985: 106 (Easter Island; specimens deposited in MNHN Santiago, coll. 1953-1978). - REMARK - This species appears to be very similar to P. dentipes; see Griffin (1973: 436, fig. 14, tab. 3-4) for a detailed comparison of the two species.
