Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 8-10 m

Central Pacific data (Wallis & Futuna, Polynesia, Clipperton, Easter Island)
Platypodia ?tomentosa - AAMP, Marquesas, 2012, Leg 3, coll. Starmer & coll., St. MQ1-R, Nuku Hiva, 8-10 m. Pre det J. Poupin, to be confirmed. Platypodia tomentosa is affiliated to P. semigranosa (Heller) already recorded in FP. According to Buitendjik (1941: 310) "This species differs from semigranosa (Heller) by the form of the antero-lateral margin; the more granular and hairy carapace; the less sinuated front and the less concave under orbital border.
