World Distribution
Serène (1984 : 33) - Indo-ouest Pacifique. L’espèce a une très large distribution, de la Mer Rouge à l’Afrique du Sud, du Japon à l’Australie et dans le Pacifique, d’autant que de nombreux auteurs n’en séparent pas melanodactylus. Dans l’Océan Indien Occidental, elle a été signalée à Dar-es-Salaam, aux Iles Seychelles, Mayotte, Maurice et à Madagascar. Comprend, Mozambique, Somalie, Tanzanie, Mayotte, Réunion.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Associated with corals (obligate)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 0-17 m
