Evans, sample 0336, St 19, Ua Huka, 20 m; Leg 3, St. MQ21-R, Ua Pou, 6-10 m, coll. Starmer et al., sample LC276, LC288, St. MQ24-GR-R, Ua Pou, 6-12 m, coll. Starmer et al., sample LC309, LC312, LC315. In the field Marquesan specimens have been first identified to Jacforus cavatus, a species very similar to Medaeus noelensis; they are here attributed to D. noelensis based on careful examination of photographs and photo & characters cited by Ng & Clark (2003), including carapace with weak grooves and ridges (higher, deeper in J. cavatus), postero-lateral margin of carapace almost straight (strongly concave in J. cavatus), and suture between sternite 2 and 3 still distinct (thoracic sternites 1-3, completely fused in J. cavatus). - Medaeus noelensis - Mission CRIOBE 2014 (collection, Moorea, 1982, coll. & det. Monteforte)
