Komai (2012: 21) - Eastern part of the Banda and Timor Seas, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and New Caledonia, 670–1135 m
(Kim & Chan, 2020, TDSB 31) - Western Pacific: Banda and Timor Seas, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and New Caledonia; 670-1274 (previously deepest record 1130) m. (Komai & Chan, 2020, Zootaxa) - Also south of Java, Indonesia, at depths of 1,060–1,268 m, extending the eographical range of the species to the eastern Indian Ocean.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Soft bottom (mud or sand)

Vertical range : Deep (more than 100 m) - Min-Max observed: 670-1268 m

New Caledonia data
Metacrangon punctata Komai, 2012: 17, Non-type. New Caledonia. BATHUS 1, stn CP 661, 21°05’S, 165°50’E, 960–1100 m, 13 March 1993, 1 male (cl 7.2 mm), MNHN-IU-2009-2110.
