Calcinus fuscus Malay, Komai & Chan, 2012



World Distribution
Malay et al. (2012: 168, Zootaxa) - Western Pacific, known with certainty from Japan (Izu Islands, Kii Peninsula, and Ryukyu Islands), the Philippines (Panglao Island in the Central Visayas), Papua New Guinea (Bismarck archipelago) and New Caledonia (Lifou), at depths of 2–81 meters.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 2-81 m

Calcinus anani - Lifou 2000 Nouvelle Caledonie, D1463, Poupin J, Zoosystema 25, 4: 643-664. Not C. anani = C. fuscus in Malay et al., 2012: 166, table 1, 1 specimen, New Caledonia, MNHN-IU-2011-701, JN243313, Lifou 2000, St. 1463, 20 -30 m, 20°55.05'S- 167°03.35'E.

Calcinus anani Poupin & McLaughlin, 1998, is a sibling species distributed in deeper waters in French Polynesia also reported from Hawaii (J. Hoover, mail & photograph February 2014).
