Comment: this species lives in tubular cavities in sunken wood. Its maximum depth range is extented herein from 311 m to 367-389 m. It can be confused with X. tenuis Lemaitre (1995) and aspect of posterior region of tergite of sixth abdominal somite, not clearly visible on photos, must be checked with Lemaitre (1995) key and figures. Present determination is proposed based on: a) the aspect of carpus of right cheliped evenly convex instead of angulous in X. tenuis; b) previous collection of X. rectus around Guadeloupe with R/V Polka and traps set by D. Lamy (unpublished det. P. McLaughlin, MNHN 2005) at similar depths.
