Comment: this is a first record for Guadeloupe Island but the species is otherwise common in Lesser Antilles. A specimen from Guadeloupe was already attributed to P. cf. spinipes by P. McLaughlin (com. pers., workshop Paris, MNHN 2005, coll. Lamy, 2003, traps at 300 m, specimen probably unregistered in Paris MNHN). Paguristes spinipes can be distinguished easily by its color pattern recently illustrated from Curaçao by Lemaitre & Tavares (2015).
