Chace & Hobbs (1969, Smithsonian Institution) - Western Atlantic. Southern Florida to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, Lesser Antilles (St Thomas, Antigua I., Dominica).

Uca lavis H. Milne Edwards, 1837(1834-1840): 22, Habite les Antilles. - Desbonne, in Desbonne & Schramm, 1867: 41, Guadeloupe [Pointe à Pitre, collection de M. Guérin] - Uca laevis H. Milne Edwards, 1837 accepted as Ucides occidentalis (Ortmann, 1897) an EP species; these records must be attributed to U. occidentalis analogous species in WA, U. cordatus.
Uca pilosipes Gill, 1859 (1858-1862): 43, St Thomas [coll. A.H. Riise] - Accepted as U. cordatus in WoRMS (2017).
