(2013: 196, The Raffles Bulletin) - Eastern Indian Ocean and in the western and central Pacific Ocean, ranging from the eastern coast of India all the way to the oceanic islands of French Polynesia; extending northward to central Japan and southward to southwestern and southeastern Australia

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Associated with corals (facultative)

Vertical range : Intertidal - Min-Max observed: 0-6 m

Leptodius exaratus - Nouvelle Caledonie, STATION — Edwards AM, Nouv Arch MNHN 8: 229-267. - Leptodius affinis - Lee et al., 2013: 193, The Raffles Bulletin, New Caledonia – 2 males (15.8 × 10.5 mm, 17.0 × 11.4 mm), 2 females (18.3 × 12.8 mm, 17.4 × 11.4 mm; MNHN-B8631), coll. Balansa, no date; all previous records of L. exaratus in New Caledonia are attributed to L. affinis.
