Comment(s) on data
Notable extension of range for S. nodifer in Lesser Antilles. Abdominal somites 2-4 of the single sp. examined have an elevated median ridge but coloration as indicated in Holthuis (1991) not recognized. It may be interesting to compare this specimen with other MNHN S. nodifer. Previously the species was distributed only in Bermudas, North Carolina, Gulf Mexico and Lyons (1970: 1) indicates 'Scyllarides nodifer occurs from the Gulf of Mexico to North Carolina and Bermuda in 2 to 91 m. The Florida Current and Gulf Stream probably prohibit distribution of the larvae southward.
