World Distribution
Felder et al. (2009) - Western Atlantic - North Carolina, Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas, Antilles, Columbia, Brazil. Also Lesser Antilles (Guadeloupe).

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 1-38 m

Distribution: ICA (Guadeloupe), IOV (Los Roques). 1-38 m. WA.
Microphrys platysoma - Lira et al., 2013: tab. 1, Los Roques - Not Microphrys platysoma (Stimpson, 1860) an eastern Pacific species, but more probably Microphrys antillensis Rathbun, 1920 the Atlantic analogous (cf. Rathbun, 1925: 489).

Comment: New genus Omalacantha is from Windsor & Felder (2014: 165).

Photo of a specimen in Alves et al. (2012: 942, fig. 2D - Checklist) is obviously different from specimens photographed at Guadeloupe (check).
