Munida aff. angulata/media - Guadeloupe (first record?), Karubenthos 2 2015, field det. J. Poupin , st. DW4555, 15 June 2015, 16°23.53'N, 60°49.67'W, 258-100 m, MNHN-IU-2013-18938.
Comment: Karubenthos 2 specimen has some ressemblance with M. angulata collected at numerous stations during Karubenthos I 2012 between1-66 m. However it is clearly distinct by much larger cornea and is collected deeper. Munida media Benedict, 1902 reported from 500-536 m in western Atlantic (Cuba) can be also considered but armament of carapace and abdomen must be checked on the specimen for a positive identification.

Comment(s) on data
Karubenthos pre-det. [Based on rostral spines, presence of a basal outer curved spine at base of movable dactyl, general aspect as Fig. 4 in Benedict (1902), place of collection, and depth although rather deep for this species; spines on carapace and abdominal segments must be checked (if spine on S2 and S3 then M. media); for M. angulata Benedict (1902) indicates - a striking character of this species is the shape of the hand, which is bent downward from the base of the fingers; close to M. iris but supraocular spines are shorter than in M. iris as illustrated by Williams (1984: 233, fig. 168)]
