Munida aff. pusilla/spinifrons - Guadeloupe (first record?), Karubenthos II 2015, field det. J. Poupin, st. CP4624, 26 June 2015, 15°56.23'N, 61°30.67'W, 242-243 m, MNHN-IU-2013-19114.
Comment: Karubenthos specimen is affiliated to Munida pusilla Benedict, 1902 and Munida spinifrons Henderson, 1885 two species that are very close (Baba & Camp, 1998; Melo-Filhlo & Melo, 1992a). The specimen must be examined for positive identification. Munida pusilla have been already recognized around Guadeloupe between 14-146 m during Karubenthos I 2012 (unpublished det. E. Macpherson).

Comment(s) on data
[Ressembles M. spinifrons with 7-8 small spines on rostrum and long rostrum (1.1 rostrocervical distance). First attributed to M. spinifrons when using Chace (1942, key; spines on rostrum). Baba & Camp (1988) have redescribed M. spinifrons and do not mention spines on posterior cervical groove, present on sp. photographed; they indicate that M. spinifrons is very close to M. pusilla and that, in the later, a vague spination can be discerned on rostrum (Rostral spine not distinctly spinose on the margins in Chace, 1942), spines on posterior cervical groove are not indicated but Benedict (1902) mentions '1 spine on branchial region behind the fork of the suture'; Melo-Filhlo & Melo (1990: 765) indicate that M. spinifrons is distinguished from M. pusilla by having the rostrum relatively longer and with more accentuated lateral spinulation, the post-cervical spines absent … i.e. present in M. pusilla],
