Comment: The characters used to distinguish this species from Pelia mutica (Gibbes) are the following in Rathbun (1925: 278): carapace very high on the median line, rostrum more deflexed, carapace wider at hepatic regions than in P. mutica. Rathbun (1925: 279) indicates also for P. rotunda: differs little from P. mutica … perhaps not specifically distinct.
