World Distribution
Chia et al. (1999 : 816) - Indo-ouest Pacifique. Mer Rouge, Afrique orientale, Madagascar, Seychelles, Maurice, à Hawaii, Polynésie française. Comprend Réunion, premier signalement, Polynésie française.
(Castro, 2000, MUSORSTOM V21) - Papua New Guinea and across the Indo-West Pacific region from the Red Sea to the Hawaiian Is and French Polynesia (Chia et al. 1999). Symbiont of shallow-water echinoids (mostly family Diadematidae). Adult females typically live in the rectum of their host, where they form a calcified, gall-like structure (Castro 2015).
