Decapoda - Stenopodidea - Stenopodidae - Stenopus

Stenopus cyanoscelis Goy, 1984

World Distribution
Goy (1992: 88, Journal of Natural History) - Indo-West Pacific - Kenya, Indonesia, Australia. Also New Caledonia from Goy in preparation (re-identification of Monod's sp. of S. tenuisrostris from NC).
Goy (2015, Zootaxa) - The species has been collected from Broadhurst Reef, Queensland, Australia; Pulau Ubi and Pulau Dapur, Java, Indonesia; and off Kilifi, Kenya (FSM 18325). It has been photographed off Singapore and the Philippines. The present records from New Caledonia add to the species’ fairly wide distribution and further sampling of shallow tropical Indo-West Pacific reefal habitats will probably provide a more continuous distribution for the species.

(Goy, 2023, Tropical Deep-Sea Benthos) - Kenya, Indonesia, Australia, and New Caledonia. It has been photographed off Singapore and the Philippines; 3-16 m.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 3-16 m
