Comment: This species can be confused with Pilumnus longleyi and P. sayi. Determination of ovigerous female MNHN-IU-2013-14497, Karubenthos 2012, st.GD16, is based on Rathbun (1930: 502). The antero-lateral spines of carapace match P. caribaeus as described by Rathbun ‘5 spines, with the second insignificant and 3, 4, 5 equal with stout spinulous bases’. The ambulatory legs are armed only on dorsal margin of the carpus.
