Chasmocarcinus cylindricus - Guadeloupe, Karubenthos 2012, det. J. Poupin October 2013, 1 F 3.7x4.8 mm, st. GN18, 40 m, JL694 (photo field, labo), ?MNHN-IU-2013-16278 (st. is GR10, 29 m, for this number, in Paris collection database) - See Comment.
Comment: One specimen determined in 2013 by J. Poupin with this comment "This species can be confused with Chasmocarcinus chacei Felder & Rabalais, 1986. Chasmocarcinus cylindricus has been described from Puerto Rico (7-172 fathoms, 13-315 m) and it is also known from Jamaica. The specimen examined has a 'well-defined raised ridge on the anterolateral margin' while this ridge is lacking in C. chacei (cf. Felder & Rabalais, 1986). Although this new record for Guadeloupe is made rather confidently it would interesting to examine comparison material of both species to check it". Much more specimen of this species collected during Karubenthos 2012 (not seen by J. Poupin) were examined by Ng & Castro (2016) who have confirmed C. cylindricus.
