Chasmocarcinus cylindricus - Guadeloupe, Karubenthos 2012, det. J. Poupin October 2013, 1 F 3.7x4.8 mm, st. GN18, 40 m, JL694 (photo field, labo), ?MNHN-IU-2013-16278 (st. is GR10, 29 m, for this number, in Paris collection database) - See Comment.
Comment: This species can be confused with Chasmocarcinus chacei Felder & Rabalais, 1986, also perhaps present in the Lesser Antilles. Chasmocarcinus cylindricus has been described from Puerto Rico (7-172 fathoms, 13-315 m) and it is also known from Jamaica. The specimen examined has a 'well-defined raised ridge on the anterolateral margin' while this ridge is lacking in C. chacei (cf. Felder & Rabalais, 1986). Although this new record for Guadeloupe is made rather confidently it would interesting to examine comparison material of both species to check it.
